Born and raised in Ethiopia, Michael Tedla is the youngest of 4 children. His mother was a schoolteacher, and his father was Manager at SOS Children’s village (non-governmental organization focused on supporting children without parental care and families at risk).
Michael Tedla knew he wanted to be a doctor at a young age living in underserved communities. He joined Jimma University, one of the only 3 internationally accredited medical schools in Ethiopia at the time. After obtaining his medical degree, he practiced Tropical medicine in Haramaya, one of Ethiopia’s underserved areas for 2 years. He also had the opportunity to teach medical students at Haramaya University.
Katelyn Trepanier was born and raised in the small, quaint town of Dunedin, FL. She was drawn to the medical field . . .
